I like to think that this funk/rock thing I do has positive effect on those listening to it. My music is a combination of funk/rock, acoustic music, jazz and blues. These genres resonated with me the most, however lately I’ve been exploring outside this box. My first album, ‘Pamela’ is a collection of songs written alone and with other musicians in the past few years and it challenged me to want to see what else is there. So I started experimenting with synths and some electronic beats and you’ll hear about that later.

Music is a medium that helps information flow. Feelings that words alone can not trigger, can be triggered by music. My vision is that music can be used as a complex tool for triggering any sort of feelings, depending on the artists intentions.

What about the Road to Success?

Artistic Résumé

  • Here’s a little exageration. I started writing songs in about 2005. A few were performed with Poltergeist, the rest ended up as sheets of paper covered with lyrics and chords and melody explanations in a drawer.
  • At one point I had a couple of shows in high school with some friends and we gave all sorts of funny names to the band and played some covers and some of my songs.
  • Basically this is when I first started thinking about Watzzy, a solo project. Fast forward 14 years and I find myself taking the songs recorded with F.A.N., mixing and mastering them and adding them to my first album, ‘Pamela’.
  • I also took a few acoustic songs written and recorded by me between 2014 and 2017 mixed them as well and added them to that same album ‘Pamela’.

  • One of my main jobs right now is playing guitar for Za Band, a cover band based in Brasov that plays pop, rock and funk covers at events, weddings, clubs and all sorts of celebrations.
  • This is where i actually started understanding the deeper meaning of teamwork.
  • Here’s a fun one. In this period I also played as guitarist for an Oktoberfest inspired band.
  • The band played Oktoberfest style music at Oktoberfests around Romania. It was a good time to learn how alcohol can literally destroy your show and your image within the band.

  • F.A.N. was a band created by me, Cipa and Soka. It is the predecessor of what the ‘Watzzy‘ project is about.
  • The band played a combo of hard rock and funk with some blues and jazz elements here and there. Most of the songs were written together and came out as the result of constant jamming.
  • We played lots of shows in Brasov, Bucharest, Cluj, Zalau and many other cities. Due to financial problems we were not able to record an album.
  • After 4 years of composing and working we did manage to record a few songs live in a studio.
  • The session was filmed and the songs were released throughout 2014, 2015 and 2016. After numerous lineup changes and two more rearranged cover songs recorded the project was disbanded.
  • We eventually managed to record songs for an album in 2015 and 2016 but the disbanding meant that these recordings remained unreleased then.
  • Gadjo Caffe! A short lived Gypsy Jazz oriented project. Two acoustic guitars and a bass.
  • We wrote lots of fun instrumental songs and played them everywhere we could. Rehearsals were from 18:00 to 04:00 almost every day and we drank too much coffee.
  • The project died out after almost two years of constant activity due to too many ‘artistic differences’.
  • This is where I learned that it’s not okay to throw things at your colleagues.

  • First real job as a guitarist. Played in a small local bar every Friday with a keybard player (classmate).
  • The band was called Robi Band and we played covers of all sorts.
  • Guitarist at the Children’s Palace in Brasov. The band was called Poltergeist and we were playing mostly covers of popular songs.
  • Lots of firsts here. My first tour, first time to perform original music with a band on stage in front of an audience.
  • First time I wrote music with others. Good times.

  • Learning classical guitar at The School of Popular Arts in Brasov. Basically, I learned this from 2005 to 2008 and 2009 to 2011.
  • Saw Angus Young, decided to become a guitarist. Started learning by myself.
  • H5N1, our first ‘love punk’ band.

As a youngster

  • Learning the secrets of the violin at the Tudor Ciortea School of Music, Brasov. Probably the most enhancing experience as a kid.
  • Violinist and double bass player in the high-school Hungarian Folk Dance Group.
